Overview

South Hackensack Municipal Court is in session on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month beginning at 3:00pm. The court is responsible for the prosecution and trial of cases such as the following:

  • Motor Vehicle and Traffic violations
  • Disorderly/Petty Disorderly Person offenses
  • Township Ordinance and Code violations
  • Fish and Game violations

The Municipal Court also determines bail, issues Temporary Restraining Orders for Domestic Violence incidents, issues arrest and search warrants, and failure to appear, propose suspension and suspension notices.

More serious criminal offenses, known as indictable offenses, will be sent to the Bergen County Prosecutors Office in Hackensack.
