DPW

The South Hackensack Department of Public Works (DPW) collects newspapers and leaves. In addition, they are responsible for park maintenance, leaf and snow removal, and other duties to keep South Hackensack looking its best. Garbage is collected by an outside contractor.

Emergencies such as sewer back-ups or fallen trees should be reported to the South Hackensack Police Department at (201)440-0042.

RECYCLING WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN ANY TYPE OF PLASTIC BAGS

Effective for the 2015-2016 recycling season, plastic bags of any kind will not be accepted. RECICLAJE NO SE ACEPTAN EN CUALQUIER TIPO DE BOLSAS DE PLÁSTICO.


PURCHASE RECYCLING CONTAINERS

48 gallon containers w/wheels, attached lid and “South Hackensack Recycles” logo will be available for purchase through the public works department for $25.00 each.

To be used for recycling material only - garbage will not be picked up in these containers

One Family Homes - maximum of 1
Two Family Homes - maximum of 2

Payments collected at Clerk's Office Monday thru Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm

Container pickup at DPW Garage Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30pm - 1:30pm
