EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Full-time Technical Assistant

Seeking a full-time NJ DCA Certified Technical Assistant for the Construction Department including Secretary to The Planning Board and Board of Adjustment. Candidate will assist the Construction Official with duties required under the regulations of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.

Responsibilities include overseeing the application process from intake to completion, scheduling of inspections, collecting permit and application fees, perform administrative duties as assigned, answering inquiries from the public, completing OPRA requests, issuing construction permits, processing Sale and Rental applications for residential and commercial properties, Zoning Applications, preparing Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting agendas and minutes.

The ideal candidate must be well versed in the New Jersey Uniform Construction codes and building permit process. 2 years Building Department Experience preferred. Applicant must be detail-oriented, possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, and hold strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must possess a valid New Jersey Technical Assistant Certification. Experience with Mitchell Humphrey & Edmunds Software preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
