Office of Emergency Management

The South Hackensack Office of Emergency Management plans and prepares for emergencies, educates residents and businesses about prepardeness, and coordinates response efforts during emergency situations.

Michael J. Ward is currently the Emergency Management Coordinator. He has been a township employee since 1989 when he joined the DPW. He later transferred to the Police Department as a full time dispatcher.

Mike is also a volunteer with the South Hackensack Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He has been involved in Emergency Medical Services since 1974. During this time Mike has accumulated over 3,500 hours of training in Emergency Response and Preparedness.
