SHPD and SHVAC Save Choking Victim
On September 22, 2010 Sgt. Licamara and Ptl. Kelly responded to a medical emergency at 55 Maple Street. Upon their arrival they found the vicitm slumped over on the chair. The victim’s lips were blue and victim had no pulse and was not breathing. The two officers placed the victim on the floor and began CPR.
Ambulance Corps. members Angelo Sortino and Joseph Marrella arrived on the scene and assisted. Angelo Sortino began to suction the victim’s mouth. The paramedics arrived and were able to dislodge a piece of meat from the victim’s throat. At this time the victim had a pulse and was breathing on his own.
