SHPD Aids in Arrest of Assault Suspect

South Hackensack Police, along with Hackensack Police and members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes & Child Abuse Unit, arrested 30-year-old Damion S. Sampson at his home in Hackensack after a 29-year-old woman told authorities that he allegedly engaged in forced inappropriate sexual contact with her.

The woman reported that she and Sampson met at an address in South Hackensack on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 28. He allegedly threatened her with a knife and forced her to engage in sexual activities with him. Sampson reportedly stole the woman’s cell phone, bank cards, driver’s license and cash. The woman told authorities that she and Sampson did not know each other prior to the alleged sexual assault.

After being arrested, authorities found he was in possession of the woman’s cell phone, bank cards and driver’s license. He was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault and one count of armed robbery. He was transported to Bergen County Jail, where bail has been set at $400,000 with no 10 percent option.
