Holiday Drunk Driving Crackdown Results
The South Hackensack Police Department, in conjuction with the NHTSA, conducted an intensive drunk driving campaign during the Labor Day season known as “Over the Limit, Under Arrest”. The campaign combined high-visibility enforcement with heightened public awareness through advertising and publicity.
The campaign was conducted from August 21 through September 7, 2009. The NHTSA provided a grant of 120 hours to provide additional officers.
The campaign led to the following:
- 170 summons issued
- 1 drug arrest
- 3 warrants for arrest
- 1 DWI arrest
