Little Ferry/South Hackensack is State Softball Champs
The Little Ferry/South Hackensack Girls Junior Softball league has won the 2008 New Jersey State Championship. The team defeated Roberto Clemente of Jersey City to win the Section 2 Championship in early July and earned the right to represent Bergen, Hudson, and Essex in the State Finals.
The State Finals were held during the weekend of July 19. The Little Ferry/South Hackensack team played against the champs from sections 1, 3, and 4 which were Mendham, Ocean Twp., and South Vineland.
The team is now one step away from playing in the Junior League Softball World Series. They are now headed to Syracuse, NY to play in the East Regional Finals Aug 2-7, 2008.
