Computer Task Force Arrests Suspect
South Hackensack Detectives recently worked on a joint investigation with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office which led to the arrest of another internet predator. Danny J. Staley, 46, of Kenilworth was arrested on April 4, 2008 and charged with Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Attempted Criminal Sexual Contact, Attempted Sexual Assault, and Transmitting Child Pornography.
The arrest was the result of the joint investigation in which Staley engaged in conversations on the internet with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. Staley initiated explicit dialog and attempted to lure her to a location for the purpose of sexual relations.
The South Hackensack Police Department participates in and provides manpower to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Task Force.
