SHPD Assists In Child Porn Sting
Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of a Newton, New Jersey man on charges of Attempted Sexual Assault, Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Possession and Transmission of Child Pornography. Scot Fucito, 36, was arrested on Tuesday, September 25, 2007.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit and members of the South Hackensack Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Frew. The South Hackensack Police Department participates in and provides manpower to the county-wide Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Task Force.
During the investigation Fucito engaged in conversations via the Internet with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl. During the course of those conversations Fucito initiated sexually explicit dialog and also instructed her to masturbate. He was charged with possession and transmission of child pornography.
Prosecutor Molinelli thanked the South Hackensack Police Department for their participation on the Computer Crimes Task Force.
