FEMA Flood Assistance Available

TO ALL RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES

OEM LogoResidents and Business Owners who sustained losses during the recent nor’easter and flooding event of April 14th through the 20th 2007 can begin applying for assistance through FEMA by registering on-line at www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing and speech impaired. “THIS IS THE FIRST STEP”

Starting this Sunday April 29th at 12 Noon until 8pm FEMA will have open a Disaster Recovery Center (DAC) located at the Bergen County Administration Building, One Bergen County Plaza, Room 460 (The Learning Center) in Hackensack. This center allows residents and business owners to meet one on one with FEMA, and other federal, state, county agencies to discuss their disaster related needs.

Assistance coordinated by FEMA may include grants to pay for temporary housing, home repairs, and other serious disaster related expenses. Low interest loans from the US Small Business Administration not fully covered by insurance.

You do not have to go to the Disaster Recovery Center to register it is strongly encouraged to call the 800 number or register on-line. For additional information on disaster assistance please go to the New Jersey OEM website at www.Ready.Gov

The Disaster Recovery Center will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm until further notice.
