Resident Arrested for Forgery and Theft by Deception
A resident was arrested today and charged with eight counts of theft by deception and six counts of forgery after swindling an elderly neighbor. Katerina Derrico allegedly befriended an 84-year-old neighbor and told her that she would help obtain legal assitance for some personal matters. Derrico is accused of forging checks from the elderly woman’s accounts, stealing approximately $5,000.
Detective Sgt. Robert Kaiser was credited with tracking down Derrico and apprehending her. Derrico is now out on bail pending court action.
